Education is the great engine of personal development. It creates hope in despair, and rids the society of illiteracy and ignorance. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that the child of a farmworker can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.

The promise-keeping Governor of Ebonyi State has once again fulfilled one of his most crucial campaign promises as conspicuously captured in Article 1 of the People's Charter of Needs Mantra of his productive administration.

The journey which has brought a glorious and glittering light to the state began in 2023 when His Excellency, the Governor assumed office as the 4th Executive Governor of the state.

He announced Foreign and Local Postgraduate Scholarships to all deserving Ebonyi graduates in all the disciplines of sciences to meet the demands of the fast evolving world global village. Implementation of this wonderful policy began with 204 Ebonyi graduates who were offered Foreign Scholarships to Universities in Britain, America, Europe and Asia, while 700 were enlisted for Local Postgraduate Scholarships to various Universities in the country.

The good news hit the state with the visit of a number of the beneficiaries of State Government Local Postgraduate Scholarships to my office a couple of days ago.

Their visit and attestation to the full sponsorship of their academic requirements prompted my office to reach out to those on Foreign Scholarships.

Their responses were fulfilling as they poured encomiums to our education-loving Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the rare opportunities offered to them.

The beneficiaries of the State Government Scholarships have clearly justified the investment of the state government in them. They promised to be worthy ambassadors of the state.

As the celebration of Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary and 29th Anniversary of the Creation of Ebonyi State gathers momentum, Ebonyians will joyfully celebrate the glorious and laudable achievements of the present administration anchored in the People's Charter of Needs Mantra.

Ebonyi people will celebrate success in education, skill development, agricultural revolution and food security, infrastructural transformation, adequate healthcare system, peace and security, modern transportation system (EBOTRANS and EBOCAB), etc.

The State will celebrate enhanced Human Development Index (HDI) achieved through development of SMEs, Education, Skills, Crafts and Creative Arts.
